Awalnya saya merasa tidak PeDe mau menulis pengalaman saya dalam membesarkan 2 mata hati saya, karena pengalaman saya pastilah ndak ada apa2nya jika dibandingkan dg ibuk2 yang sudah berputra besar2. By the way, Kebetulan sekarang saya sedang mengambil program childcare di college disini. Dan biasanya kalau ada tugas2 dari courses yang saya jalani, sebagian besar eksperimentasi dan observasi saya lakukan pada ke-2 anak saya sendiri. Memang, focus study saya pada anak usia dini (under 7 years old), tapi secara global insyaAllah bermanfaat pada usia anak berapa pun. Moga bermanfaat……………sekaliyan untuk curhat and sharing pengalaman. &lt;/span&gt;   &lt;span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;Every Child is Matter&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;"&gt;Sejauh pemahaman dan pengalaman saya “Every child is matter”, jadi sebagai seorang ibu dan ortu kita harus mampu memahami jiwa anak2 kita, proses dan step2 perkembangan baik fisik maupun mental (plus intellegensinya). Setiap anak mempunyai fase pertumbuhan dan perkembangan yang berbeda2, sbg contoh kedua anak saya sendiri pun mempunyai kasus yang sama. Salah satu hal yang paling penting adalah bagaimana kita memahami mereka, pertumbuhan dan perkembangan mereka. Sehingga kita bisa mencari cara dan step2 yang tepat untuk mengoptimalkan “learning process” mereka, dg tanpa paksaan alias naturally. &lt;/span&gt;  &lt;span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;"&gt;Setiap anak lahir di dunia ini pasti membawa potensi dan bakat sendiri2, ini lah hal lain juga yang perlu kita pahami dan kalau perlu kita explore secara diam2 melalui observasi sehari-hari untuk bisa kita optimalkan potensi mereka.  Sebagai contoh, anak saya yang pertama mengalami sedikit keterlambatan dalam berbicara. Usia 3 tahun, kosa kata dan kelancaran berbicaranya baru berkembang. Saya sempet mengkonsultasikannya ke psikolog anak ketika dia masih berusia 1,5 tahun-an. Kehidupan kami yang sll berpindah2 dari negara satu ke negara lain dg bahasa dan kondisi yang berubah2, plus saya dan suami yang waktu itu sama2 sibuk belajar sehingga waktu komunikasi kami dg si kecil sangat lah kurang, menjadi salah satu faktor penyebabnya. Alhamdulillah, saya dan suami segera membenahi diri dan akhirnya anak saya yang pertama kemampuan verbalnya bertambah baik.&lt;/span&gt;   &lt;span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;Memahami Kecenderungan Bakat dan Minat Anak&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Bertahun-tahun &lt;span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;"&gt;saya amati perkembangan anak saya yg pertama, saya bisa memahami kecenderungannya di bidang ilmu2 yang agak rumit, seperti math, computer, drawing vehicle (sampai ke bagian2 yang rumit) lebih menonjol di bandingkan kemampuan verbal/linguistic-nya. Ini lah langkah awal pemahaman saya terhadap anak saya yg pertama untuk bisa membantunya memupuk dan mengembangkan potensinya.&lt;/span&gt;  &lt;span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;"&gt;Beda lagi dg anak saya yg ke-2. Si gadis kecil ini lebih cepet ngomong, drawing dg eksplorasi berbagai warna, nyanyi, sibuk ikut masak di dapur, bersih-bersih rumah dll. Saya pun berusaha menyusun strategi untuk bisa mengarahkan unsur “Learning” dalam kesukaan dan aktivitasnya sehari-hari. &lt;/span&gt;   &lt;span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;Learning through Play&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Metode ini banyak sekali disebut2 dan diaplikasikan dalam sistem pendidikan anak usia dini di UK ini. Saya sempet belajar bagaimana EYFS Principles (Early Years Foundation Stages) mengutamakan proses belajar dg cara yang menyenangkan, tanpa memaksa dan megikuti kemauan dan minat anak. Nach, sistem ini sungguh jauh berbeda dengan sistem pendidikan masa saya kecil maupun, di kota tempat tinggal kami di Indonesia. Walaupun, sedikit banyak sistem ini sudah mulai diserap di banyak lembaga2 pendidikan di Indonesia, terutama di kota-kota besar. Combined System dg tetep berbasis cara yang menyenangkan bagi anak kecil saya coba terapkan pada ke-2 buah hati saya.&lt;/span&gt;  &lt;span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;"&gt;Anak-anak selalu berpikir ttg bermain dan bermain dalam segala aktivitas mereka. Sadar atau tidak kita sadari, saat2 seperti itu sebenarnya mereka sedang berproses belajar (Learning Process). Untuk, itu lah sebagai ortu kadang kita dituntut untuk bisa membumi dg dunia anak2, ikut bermain dan belajar dg mereka. Kalau perlu ikut berteriak, menari, menyanyi, meloncat, berlari2 bergabung dg mereka.  Alhamdulillah, saya lihat banyak ibuk2 dan guru2 TK/Play Group di Indonesia juga begitu.&lt;/span&gt;  &lt;span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;"&gt;Saya yakin sebagian besar ibuk2 di milist ini sudah memahami konsep “Learning through Play”, yaitu bagaimana kita memasukkan unsur learning dalam setiap permainan dan aktivitas anak2 yang kecenderungan dan sebagian besar adalah bermain.  Di bawah contoh2 praktis:&lt;/span&gt; &lt;ul&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;"&gt;Di dapur, Aktivitas memasak bersama bisa menjadi kegiatan menyenangkan bagi anak2. Mengenal barang2 dapur, menghitungnya, mengenal warna, kegunaan, konsep ukuran dan skala. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;"&gt;Shopping juga bisa menjadi ajang learning, membuat list belanja, menghitung, mengenal barang2, ukuran dan warna dll&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;"&gt;Dalam perjalanan kendaraan juga bisa mengasyikkan sambil menghitung jumlah kendaraan yang lalu lalang, warna, ukuran, jenis, dll&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;"&gt;Telling story sebelum tidur, mengenalkan wacana, gemar membaca, building vocabulary, dll&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;/ul&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;"&gt;Semua aktifitas keseharian bisa menjadi ajang learning bagi anak2, tinggal bagaimana kaum ibu dan ortu pada umumnya mencari cara jitu dalam memanfaatkany.&lt;/span&gt;  &lt;span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;Mengenal SPICE Principles&lt;/span&gt; &lt;/span&gt; &lt;span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;SPICE adalah mengarahkan dan megoptimalkan learning activity anak untuk mengembangkan kemampuan Social, Physical, Intellectual, Creativity dan Emotional-nya.&lt;/span&gt;  &lt;span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;"&gt;Jadi komplit, anak diberi ruang yang luas untuk meng-eksplorasi kemampuan dan rasa ingin tahunya, understanding the world and the wider context. &lt;/span&gt; &lt;span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;"&gt;Klo kata Kak Seto dalam salah satu seminarnya yang saya datangi dulu sekitar tahun 2005-an,:”Cerdas saja tidak cukup”, dalam arti kecerdasan intelektrual saja tidak cukup, anak juga perlu di-push kecerdasan emotioanalnya, creativity, motorik.phisycal-nya, dan kemampuan social-nya.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;Saatnya Belajar Serius&lt;/span&gt;  &lt;/span&gt; &lt;span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Di UK ini, sejauhn pemahaman saya ketika mengambil children courses disini, juga pengamatan akltivitas school ke-2 anak saya, Learning Through Play  menjadi basis sistem pendidikan anak2 khususnya nursery/preschool spi Primary. Sistem konvensional di Indonesia saya alami lebih strict. Di Indo anak TK  sudah mulai belajar membaca, menulis dan mengaji dg serius. Dengan memahami perkembangan anak2 saya, menimbang kurang dan lebihg kedua system diatas,  saya akhirnya memutuskan combined system. Bahasa mudahnya ada kalanya nyantai dan ada kalanya serius. Seperti menghafal doa, menghafal surat2 dalam Al-Qor’an, Sholat dll saya pakai system sedikit lebih serius dg tetap menjaga tanpa byk pressure. Matematika kadang juga agak serius mengerjakan soal2, hanya soal2nya dibuat dalam tampilan menarik dan cara yang menarik. Kurangi tidur, dan&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;3.  Kurangi tidur&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;    Saya membiasakan diri untuk tidur 3 - 4 jam dalam sehari.  Rasulullah saw juga tidak terlalu banyak tidur, dan beliau masih bisa jadi pedagang, pendakwah dan kepala pemerintahan yang sangat baik dan handal.  Beliau bahkan tetap menjadi panglima perang, mengikuti dan memenangkan berbagai peperangan yang dilakukan bersama sahabat sahabat beliau.  Malu kita dengan beliau, tidur sering lebih dari 8 jam, jangankan ikut perang, kena angin atau hujan sedikit saja langsung demam plus pilek. I just want to share my experience during I attended “Learning through Play” course for 6 weeks. The course has finished last week, and I am writing here to remember all of my classmates and both of my tutors. I enjoyed joining this class. I hope what I have gained from this class would be useful for myself, my family (especially for my children) and might be, for the other people who read this story.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) is designed to set the standards for learning, development and care for children from birth to five in United Kingdom. IYFS Principles consist of 4 main areas to be learned and obtained. They are: A unique child areas, Positive relationship matters, Enabling Environments and the last one is Learning and Development areas.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;A unique child understands that every child is a competent learner even from their birth. They can be resilient, capable, confident and self-assured. This area is exploring child development through inclusive practice, keeping safe, and health and well-being.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Positive relationships is the second area which EYFS concerned for how children learn to be strong and independent from base of loving and secure relationships with parents and or a key person. Respecting each other by ways of understanding children feelings, being friendships and build professional relationships with the children are good attitudes to support children learning. It is also the way of effective teaching. Parents is a partners for children, we can learn together with children and make a good communication.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The environment plays a key role in supporting and extending children’s development and learning. EYFS concern how we can make observation, assessment, and planning to support our children’s needs, learning about journey and working together in group or social. Children need to learn their environment; it includes emotional environment, outdoor environment, and indoor environment. In the wider context, we have to deliberate transitions and continuity, multi-agency working in children and the community involvement.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Learning and Development area, it plays more in learning through experience, active learning, creativity and critical thinking. Active learning push children in mental and physical involvement, decision making and personalized learning. Through creativity and critical thinking, children could make a little connection, transforming understanding and sustained shared thinking. For little example, making ply dough, children can learn how to make dough from some raw materials, and create many shapes from them. Build children creativity, understanding and curiosity. Push children to react with their own decision, ask questions and make a good discussion with them. Moreover, this activity could improve their personal, emotional, and social development. It would build good communication, language and literacy.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Still more information I got from this course. There is no enough time I am telling here. We learned from a little thing such as exploring a children songs, ply dough, make a bubbles, children food end many things. In the end of every physical activity we make connection with EYFS Principles. It leads to how to apply in children learning. I have no idea writing a poem, even about the sun, the huge source of nature power. I used to be a good poem writter when I was still in the university. But now, What all I know just everything about babies, children, homework, education and not many other things.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Let's think quickly, I saw the iraqi man beside me. He is my groupmate and he is the one and only. We made group of just two members. I knew He depend on me. He is absolutely blank about the poem. And, finally...here my little poem...it's nice. even seems so childish I though.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Early morning....&lt;br /&gt;I wake up quickly&lt;br /&gt;Jump from my bed with the high sprint&lt;br /&gt;get dress in a hurry&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I see the sun from the window&lt;br /&gt;Shone brightly in the east&lt;br /&gt;The golden circle shines this morning&lt;br /&gt;like fresh injection for my spirit&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Under warm of Mr Sun&lt;br /&gt;I make a little jogging along the street&lt;br /&gt;Under beautiful of Mr Sun&lt;br /&gt;I take a deep breath of fresh air&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Sun is source of power&lt;br /&gt;Source of energy&lt;br /&gt;Source of human living&lt;br /&gt;and there is still the sun&lt;br /&gt;There is still nice hope waiting for me&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;There is something funny when I read my poem. I knew, I can't make a more philosophical poem this moment. Setelah hari itu,aku sempet kehilangan selera minum kopi susu hangat, yang dulu sangat kunikmati, apalagi sambil duduk di tepian dermaga sydney (Circular Quay) atau di depan halaman Opera House sambil memandang laut. Moccona, adalah kopi buatan Aussie kesukaan kami, diseduh dengan ditambah susu segar hangat plus gula jadilah kopi susu nan enak di lidah. Sometimes, kami kembali ke selera asal waktu di Indo yaitu nescafe yang sedikit lebih murah harganya, tapi enaknya hampir sama. Southampton bener-bener tidak ramah 2 minggu terakhir ini. Panas beberapa hari, kemudian hujan beberapa hari, hujan berseling panas dalam sehari, angin kenceng tanpa or dg hujan,sungguh membingungkan bukan hanya untuk orang yang sudah lama tinggal disini, tapi juga buat badanku yang baru adaptasi dg cuaca di salah satu kota kecil di negerinya pangeran Charles ini.  Alhamdulillah, anak2 wlo sometimes harus mandi &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;cethetheren&lt;/span&gt; and the other times &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;kungkum&lt;/span&gt; ceria di bathup nan hangat, tetep saja ceria and aktif. Setidaknya aktif membuat mereka tidak terlalu merasa kedinginan, wlo tidak dipungkiri endhuk umbelen terus sampai sekarang.....Alhamdulillah yang penting tidak rewel dan mau makan.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;3 minggu sudah waktu berlalu dari hari pertama kami menjejakkan langkah kaki di Bandara London. Dan sudah selama itu pula kami sekeluarga menghuni rumah di lantai 2, pinggir jalan besar yang dilewati Bus Uni Link tiap 15 menitan, alias deket kampus suamiku menimba ilmu. Everything is going well till now, anak2 cepet settle. Dan Alhamdulillah, 2 tahun lebih pernah tinggal di Sydney membuatku juga lebih cepet beradaptasi alias mandiri. Dengan cepet kami punya temen dari bangsa sendiri maupun negara tetangga, terutama dari &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;negeri Jiran&lt;/span&gt;. Ada perbedaan dengan di Sydeny dulu, Disini Malaysian Community mendominasi daripada orang-orang Indonesia, sementara di Sydney dulu Indonesian Community mendominasi wajah-wajah melayu, sehingga beberapa temen2 malaysia gabung dengan komunitas dari Indonesia waktu itu, dan kabarnya sampai sekarang tetep begitu. Tapi, bagiku tidak masalah, Malaysia or Indonesia sama saja. We have almost similar culture, dan hampir semua orang Malaysia yang kutemui disini Muslim. Jadi, seneng-seneng saja.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Orang bule pun rata-rata tidak bisa membedakan antara Malaysian dan Indonesian. Nggak hanya Malaysia or Indonesia, Bule is Ok!, Arab is Yes!, India is No Problem, and Anyone is quite Ok!. Yang penting main bareng and having fun togather, bahkan untuk sementara ini nggak begitu faham bahasanya pun ndak po-po.
